400ex Push Button Starter

Unplug and remove wiring harness for the headlights.

Unplug and remove wiring harness for the neutral light.

Cover the exposed wiring connector with a piece of heat sink.

Unplug and remove wiring harness and main control switches from the handlebars.

Rap a layer of tape around the area on the bars that the aftermarket switch will be mounted.

Mount the switch to the bar and attach a second wire to the collar of the mounting ring.

Connect the main wire of the switch to the yellow with orange stripe wire in the main wiring harness. Connect the second collar wire to the black wire in the main wiring harness.
 

Secure all wires.

No cuts to any wires is needed. Place extra wiring harnesses away for a later date.
